The Nation's Weather for Thursday, September 16, 2021

As Nicholas slows to a crawl tomorrow, torrential rain could

lead to flooding issues in southeastern Louisiana, southern

Mississippi, southwestern Alabama and the far western

Florida Panhandle. Farther east, showers of somewhat lesser

intensity are forecast to dampen much of Georgia. To the

north, thunderstorms are expected to rumble along a cold

front in coastal Connecticut, New Jersey, eastern and

southern Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and western

and central Virginia. Showers with embedded steadier rain

will fall along another cold front in North Dakota and

northern Minnesota. Moisture off the East coast may slowly

organize into a tropical system. In the West, a dry day is

expected. Cool air will advance into the interior Northwest,

the northern Rockies and the Plains.
