Concert series at Plaza returns for 2021 season

ALBANY — The Capital Concert Series returns for its 2021 season at the Empire State Plaza, offering four free concerts ranging from R&B and locally sourced rock to classic reggae. 

On Aug. 11, along with the evening concert, there will be a day-long food event including a farmer’s market. 

The events are:

Ginuwine: The R&B performer and actor. 5:30-8:30 p.m., Aug. 4;

Farmer’s Market and Old Time Dance Band: The swing band performs a lunchtime soundtrack. 11 a.m. onwards, Aug. 11;

Lit: The day's fare gets considerably louder with this post-grunge outfit. 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Aug. 11;

Super 400 and Wild Adriatic: A double bill sure to delight fans of rock with local roots — Troy and Saratoga Springs, respectively. 5:30-8:30 p.m., Aug. 18;

The Legendary Wailers: Featuring Julian Junior, who played with Bob Marley's Wailers beginning in 1977, as well as joining Stevie Wonder's band. 5:30-8:30 p.m., Aug. 25.

All concerts begin at 5:30 p.m. Free parking will be available starting at 5 p.m. in the Grand Street and Elk Street lots. Paid parking is also available in the visitors lot under the Empire State Plaza.
