The 11th annual Swanson Horrigan Memorial slowpitch softball tournament will be played July 12-14 at the field complex behind Washington Primary School.

The benefit event is offered in memory of former Shepaug Valley High School student-athletes Brian and Chris Swanson and Tyler Horrigan.

Proceeds benefit the Chris and Brian Swanson Technology Fund and Tyler Horrigan Scholar-Athlete Fund at Shepaug.

The tournament is held with the theme "You play for the love of the game... we play for the love of the boys." Entry Fee is $200 per team.

Wooden bat competition will be offered in men's A, B and C, fun and coed divisions with players allowed to play on a second team if one of the teams is coed.

Players are asked to bring their own wooden bats if possible.

Each division will play round robin, followed by single elimination.
