Sherman Park & Recreation notes
The Sherman Park & Recreation Department offers programs throughout the year.
Summer office hours at Sherman School generally are Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. Phone messages at 860-354-3629 will be returned.

Beach passes are distributed outside the Sherman School cafeteria weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
A trail over the mountain extending from the town park to Colonial Park is open to residents.
The free summer concerts at the town beach feature an Aug. 17 performance by Cripple Creek at 2 p.m. and an Aug. 23 performance by the Pears. Residents are welcomed to bring a picnic lunch and some friends.
Registration for all summer youth programs is offered Mondays through Fridays in the Sherman School cafeteria from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through July.
Rich Sheridan, longtime New Milford High School coach, assisted by current Green Wave players, will direct boys and girls aged 8--15 Aug. 11-15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Veterans Field. Cost will be $100.
Michele Close directs youths aged 4-7, meeting Mondays to Fridays from 9 to 11:45 a.m. through Aug. 3 at Sherman School.
Rich Sheridan directs youths aged 7--12, meeting Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. through Aug. 3 at Sherman Town Park. Early dropoff and extended hours are available for an extra fee.
The New Milford High School baseball coaching staff will direct an Aug. 4-18 camp meeting from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Veterans Field. Boys and girls aged 8--15 are eligible at the cost of $100.
Half-hour lessons are offered July 21 to Aug. 1, based on Red Cross guidelines for Levels 1 to 6.
