The Sherman Park & Recreation Department offers programs throughout the year.
Office hours at Sherman School generally are Saturdays from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Phone messages at 860-354-3629 will be returned Thursday afternoons.

Work as a lifeguard, swim instructor or junior or senior camp counselor are available. Those interested should call or stop by the Park and Recreation office for an application.
Junior camp director
A director for junior camp is needed for six weeks this summer. Those interested should call or stop by the Park and Recreation office for an application.
Easter egg hunt
The annual Easter egg hunt and visit from the Easter Bunny will take place April 19 at noon at the town park. All resident children in pre-school through grade 5 are welcome free of charge.
Registration for the 2014 boating season is still available. Applications are avaiable Saturday mornings at the rec office.
A trail over the mountain extending from the town park to Colonial Park is open to residents.
Registration for kayak and canoe racks will start April 12 at 9 a.m. at the Park and Recreation office. Cost will be $40 for each slot for Sherman residents only.
Signup will start April 19 at the Park and Recreation office. Each 20- by 20-foot plot is just $4. Previous owners are entitled to their plots until May 12, when all remaining plots will be first come, first served.
