Sherman Park & Recreation notes
The Sherman Park & Recreation Department offers programs throughout the year.

Park and Rec Commission
An opening is available on the town's recreation commission. If interested, call the Park and Rec office.
Boat moorings for the 2013 season are still available at the town beach at the cost of $950. Registration may be made Saturday mornings at the Park & Recreation office.
Lessons offered by tennis pro Glen Englander will be offered soon advanced beginners, intermediates, seniors and juniors at the cost of $90 for six weeks.
Kayaks and canoes
Registration for the kayak and canoe rack is underway at the Park and Rec office. Cost is $40 per spot for residents only.
Signup begins Saturday, April 20 at the Park and Recreation office. Each 20-foot by 20-foot plot costs $4, with previous owners entitled to their former plots until May 12.
Residents can swim at the New Fairfield High School pool as part of a program in cooperation with New Fairfield Park and Recreation. For signup or information, check www.newfairfield.org or call New Fairfield Park and Recreation.
Positions are available for summer employment as lifeguards, swim instructors or junior or senior camp counselors. Applications are available at the Park & Rec office.
An after-school program for schoolchildren in grades K-8 meets weekdays from 2:30 to 6 p.m. during the school year under the direction of Morgan Hill and Nancy Parker.
