The inaugural Reunion Golf Classic will be played Aug. 9 with a 10 a.m. shotgun start at Candlewood Valley Country Club in New Milford.

The event welcomes back former New Milford High School athletes from any generation for a day of friendship, golf and good times.

Tournament director Steve Byrne explained the 18-hole individual competition will be conducted in three flights: "a championship flight for those hoping to break 80, a first flight for those who hope to break 90, a second flight for those hoping to not break any bones, and a flight for females."

A post-round party will be offered in CVCC's upstairs banquet room from 3 to 7 p.m.

"The event is an opportunity for people of all ages who attended New Milford High School to get together," said Byrne, "and spend a fun-filled day with others who share the common bond of having grown up in New Milford and Sherman."

Proceeds will benefit the Marc R. Mills Memorial Fund, a benefit under the auspices of the Connecticut Community Foundation.
