The 30th edition of the Polar Bear Run will be held Feb. 23 with an 11 a.m. start near the Lake Waramaug Country Club tennis courts, near the intersection of Golf Links and North Shore roads in New Preston.

Snow date would be March 2.

The course is a mostly flat, 7.6-mile tour run counter-clockwise around Lake Waramaug.

The race will honor the memory of Wallie Jahn, a long-time New Milford running enthusiast, who helped resurrect the Polar Bear Run in the 1980s and directed it until a few years ago.

Non-perishable foods will be collected on race day. Monetary donations can be made online or on race day.

Runners are encouraged to carpool due to limited parking.

Online registration is available at $22 at www.lakewaramaugpolarbearrun.com through Feb. 22. Cost would be $27 after that date.
