The Northville Baptist Church men's slowpitch softball team has now made its mark in the New Milford Parks & Recreation league.

After several years as a non-contender, the Baptists have put together a recent hot streak to climb within hailing distance of first place in the `E' division.

Northville owned a 6-3 ledger for games reported through June 13, deadlocked with O'Connor's Pub and just a half-game behind `E' pacesetter S & S Precision Metals' 6-2 record.

The best record in the 34-team men's loop belonged to `D' division leader A-1 Auto Body/Nostalgia Collectibles at 10-1.

The nine-team women's league featured a two-way battle for supremacy between J & R Lawn Service at 7-0 and the Ponytail Express at 8-1.
