Nahom, Davis excel at New Englands Green Wave boys reign in state 'L'
Mia, a sophomore, distinguished herself with an eighth-place performance among 255 of the region's elite cross-country runners.
She clocked 18:44 for the five-kilometer course at Wickham Park to trail only Hannah DeBalsi (17:58) of Westport Staples, Gabriella Richichi (18:23) of New Fairfield and five other athletes.
Of note is that all seven girls ahead of Mia are juniors or seniors.
That effort came on the heels of Mia's runner-up finish to Richichi in the South-West Conference race, second place to DeBalsi in the state Class LL race and third place in the girls' State Open.
Stosh closed the books on his junior campaign for the Green Wave by checking in 55th of 264 boys at Wickham.
His 16:49 time was the 22nd best among New England underclassmen.
Stosh and his Green Wave teammates had in October claimed both the SWC and state Class L championships before settling for eighth place in the State Open.
