MVP SOS to host 10th annual dinner/auction

Tickets are available for MVP SOS's 10th annual Celebration Dinner & Silent Auction.

The event will be held Oct. 26 at the Portuguese Cultural Center along Starr Road in Danbury.

Union Savings Bank and Collins Hannafin P.C., Attorneys at Law, are the presenting sponsors.

Rob Ryder of The Cookhouse in New Milford will again be donating his services to the event.

Tickets are $80.

Sponsor tables of 10 seats are are $800.

Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with the silent auction, wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres.

Dinner will be followed by the third annual Jay Lowe Award presentation.

A live auction, music and dancing will climax the evening.

Proceeds will benefit the MVP SOS general fund.

MVP SOS welcomes donations in the form of merchandise, gift cards or certificates from local businesses for both the silent and live auctions.

MVP SOS, the Motivational Volunteers Promoting the Spirit Of Sports (& Activities), a 501(c)3, was created "to ensure a solid foundation for the future educational and personal success of our youth by keeping them involved in athletics and educational activities in our schools and our community, regardless of their financial status."

Since 2004, MVP SOS has raised more than $270,000 and awarded more than $240,000 to New Milford residents in need.
