A young New Milford High School boys' tennis squad closed its regular season on a high note last week with a 6-1 victory over host Bethel.

The Green Wave thus closed the books on a 7-8 campaign.

Among its South-West Conference defeats were competiive outings against perennial state powers Weston, Joel Barlow and Newtown.

Highlighting the spring for first-year coach Larry Badaracco's court crew was the doubles performance of seniors Nick and Scott Eherts.

The twins were virtually untouchable for opponents as they set themselves up for bids for SWC and state tournament honors.

The Eherts and Nevan Swanson are the only seniors on the young team, which also features just three juniors -- Justin Nabozny, Wade Elsesser and Ryan Gannon.
