The inaugural Jack Buczek Memorial golf tournament will be played Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Candlewood Valley Country Club in Buczek's hometown of New Milford.

Four New Milford-based charitable organizations will host the event in memory of Jack Buczek, who was active in all four groups.

The scramble event with a 10 a.m. shotgun start is co-sponsored by the New Milford Lions Club, VFW Post 1672, Boy Scout Troop 58 and Harrybrooke Park as a celebration of Buczek's life.

The tournament will include a continental breakfast, lunch and dinner, competitive prizes and a raffle.

Entry fee is $500 per foursome, or $135 per individual golfer.

Net proceeds will benefit the four sponsoring groups.
