The Mice of Merwinsville
Sarah Noble students present stage performance
Sarah Noble Intermediate School in New Milford will present an original musical theater production, "The Mice of Merwinsville," today at 7 p.m. at the school.
Forty-five students were scheduled to perform the production for the rest of the school Thursday and today.
The play, based on the history of the Merwinsville Hotel, a historical landmark in Gaylordsville, tells the story of the adventures and misadventures of the mice who reside in the hotel and find that their lives are in jeopardy when the humans begin to restore the hotel in the 1970s.
Susan Hackel, a reading specialist at Sarah Noble, conceived of and wrote the story with the help of Nanci Zimmerman, a fifth grade teacher, and several students at Hill and Plain School a decade ago.
Tickets to the play at the Sunny Valley Road school are $5 per person and $20 for families of over four people, with proceeds to support SNIS PTO.
For information, call Ms. Hackel at 860-355-5553.
