'Poetry Slam' shines spotlight on NMHS students
New Milford High School recently celebrated poetry with its 2014 Poetry Slam.
Fifteen competitors shared original work judged by their peers and teachers.
The poets were judged on several criteria, including content and delivery.
Juniors Casey Shanahan and TJ Bains, and sophomore LarMarcus Willis earned the finals, and LarMarcus walked away with the win based on audience applause.
Each of the trio received a Subway gift card.
Funding for the event was made possible through the New Milford Parent-Teacher Organization.
