The Washington Scholarship Fund will present a benefit concert July 25 in celebration of its 50th anniversary.

Singer/songwriter Jeremy Messersmith will perform at 7 p.m. at Shepaug Valley School auditorium, 159 South St., Washington.

A reception for people aged 21 and older will precede the concert at 6 p.m.

Messersmith, who is in the midst of an international tour, was named one of the 14 artists to watch in 2014 by Time magazine, and his song "Ghost" is featured in the latest Verizon commercial.

Tickets to the concert are $50 for adults and $25 for students ages 14-20. Tickets to the reception and concert are $75. They may be purchased at www.washscholarshipfund.org.

The scholarship fund has provided more than $2 million in scholarships since its inception.
