The Horgan Academy of Irish Dance will kick off its 20th season of teaching Irish dance in New Milford with a free lesson for children Nov. 7 at 9:30 a.m.

The class will be offered at the Marsh Parish Hall at the First Congregational Church, 36 Main St., in New Milford.

Class size is limited to ensure individualized attention.

In addition, a gala reunion for alumni who attended New Milford classes will take place Nov. 30.

The dance academy educates students of all ages to perform step-dances at a host of civic, church, cultural and community events.

Beginners will learn basic dance movements, music appreciation and correct posture.

Instructors are step-dance teacher and adjudicator Irene Horgan and ceili dance teacher Maureen Horgan, who are both certified by the Irish Dance Commission of Dublin, Ireland, to teach traditional Irish dancing and enter students in registered competitions throughout the world.
