One of life's milestone moments was experienced June 11 by 16 members of New Milford adult education's Class of 2014.
The highlight, of course, was the climactic presentation of diplomas to the grads by program director Joanne Brogis.
Following the traditional processional, Brogis had welcomed the grads and their families and friends to New Milford High School for the commencement exercises.
Former adult ed student Lauren Campbell, a Western Connecticut State University graduate, offered words of inspiration to this year's class, reminding the grads to follow a path that would make them happy.
Campbell will soon begin pursuit of a master's degree at Columbia University.
The graduates' honored speaker, Deborah Fiala, then offered reflections on her own personal route to graduation.
Following the presentation of diplomas, class of 2014 graduate Kaysie Jordan led her fellow grads in the traditional turning of the tassel.
