School note left in stolen car leads to teen’s arrest
SHELTON -A school note left in a stolen car with a student’s name on it led to the arrest of a 15-year-old on larceny charges.
Detective Richard Bango said that on Oct. 26, Curtis Ryan Honda on Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton was burglarized during the overnight hours.
“Upon viewing surveillance video, two men could be seen throwing a rock through the service department window and stole key fobs hanging on the wall. The men then went to the parking lot and stole two customer vehicles.,” Bango said in a release.
On Sunday, Mario D’Daddario on Bridgeport Avenue was also burglarized and key fobs were taken and a vehicle was subsequently stolen.
Bango said a vehicle from Curtis Ryan and one from D’Daddario were recovered.
“A search of one of the vehicles yielded a note from a school in Bridgeport and had a student’s name on it. Upon further investigation, Shelton detectives arrested a 15-year old juvenile from Bridgeport,” Bango said.
The juvenile was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of second-degree larceny.
The juvenile was given a court date at Bridgeport Juvenile Court.
“The investigation is ongoing and other arrests are expected,” Bango said.
