NEW MILFORD — A man was arrested this week after a drug investigation by local and state authorities, New Milford police said Wednesday.

Robert Rotella, 53, was taken into custody around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday at his Sunny Valley Road home by investigators with the New Milford Police Department and the statewide narcotics task force.

Police said Rotella was found in possession of cocaine, fentanyl, Xanax and oxycodone.

“The arrest stemmed from an ongoing investigation and search warrants involving the sale of illegal narcotics in New Milford,” New Milford Police Lt. Lee Grabner said Wednesday. “An arrest warrant was issued as a result of these investigations and served on the suspect last night.”

Rotella was charged with operating a drug factory, possession with intent to sell and four counts of possession of a controlled substance. He’s expected in court on Dec. 8.
