BRIDGEPORT — The victim of a shooting Wednesday afternoon was uncooperative with investigators, according to police officials.

Police officers responded for a ShotSpotter activation around 1 p.m. to the 100 block of Yaremich Drive.

Scott Appleby, the city’s director of emergency communications and emergency management, said responding officers found a male victim suffering from “gunshot wounds to the buttocks.”

Investigators found a crime scene on Karen Court, where two shell casings were processed as evidence, and behind a Yaremich Drive home, Appleby said.

The victim was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center to be treated for injuries.

“The victim was uncooperative with both uniformed officers and detectives with providing information about the assault and suspects,” Appleby said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Bridgeport police tips line at 203-576-TIPS.
