NAUGATUCK — A Shelton man was arrested Monday after police said he was found naked inside a parked car with illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Police were sent to the Cross Street commuter lot off Route 8 at 7:15 p.m. to investigate a report of a suspicious person/vehicle.

Officers “were advised that a white male was walking around the lot half naked in only a white T-shirt,” according to the arrest report. When they arrived, “the accused was found in the driver’s seat of the vehicle naked and in possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia.”

Richard Remokitis, 59, of Woodland Park in Shelton, was charged with breach of peace, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

He was released after posting a $500 bond and is to appear in court Sept. 18.
