DANBURY — Two males were arrested Sunday after police say they crashed a stolen car on Interstate 84.

State police responded to a one-car accident in the area of Exit 3 around 9:25 p.m. and found an unoccupied vehicle with heavy passenger side damage facing west on the eastbound side of the highway.

Shortly after arriving on scene, a trooper spotted two individuals running on the Exit 3-off ramp, according to authorities.

Danbury and state police made contact with the two individuals and later determined that the vehicle involved in the crash had been stolen earlier that day.

State police’s criminal information summary on the incident lists “Danbury Kia” as the victim.

One of the individuals was 20-year-old Danbury resident Stephen Felax, according to police. The other was a male juvenile.

They were both charged with second-degree larceny and interfering with an officer.

The juvenile was released to a guardian on scene, while Felax was held on a $2,500 surety bond.

Felax was scheduled to be arraigned Monday at state Superior Court in Danbury.
