BRIDGEPORT — Two people were wounded by glass fragments, not bullets, on George Street Friday evening, according to city police.

Police spokesman Terron Jones said Friday that shots were fired in the 200 block of George Street, with two victims transported to a city hospital.

In the course of an investigation, police determined that the two people had not been struck by gunfire and “only sustained injuries from glass fragments,” officials said on Twitter.

The two wounded individuals were discharged from the hospital Friday night, officials said.
