Watching Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ victory speech on Nov. 7 was more than just a study break from my eighth-grade homework. It was a welcome moment of inspiration after the tedium of online school that has come to define the past year. As I sat on my living room sofa, Ms. Harris looked me in the eye and promised me that “while I may be the first woman in this office, I won’t be the last. Because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities.”
And that night, I saw that it is.
