To the Editor:

The holiday season has wound down and a new year is welll underway.

We all have high hopes and wishes of good health and prosperity in 2011.

All of us at New Milford Animal Welfare Society have a lot to be thankful for. We have been blessed with an amazing group of people who have supported our shelter over the years.

This past year has been no exception.

We know the majority of our community has been hit hard with the slumping economy and we sincerely appreciate all you continue to do for our animals waiting to be adopted.

We would like to especially thank Candlewood Animal Hospital staff and clients for their recent holiday campaign, "Give a Woof," by donating a paw print.

You should all be very proud of the amazing work you do to help our communities animals in need. Because of you, these animals are being cared for at our "shelter home" awaiting their forever homes.

Stop by and visit our shelter and you will be sure to receive an extra wag of a tail and a big thank you purr from all our residents in sincere gratitude.

In their eyes you are the cats meow,

Together we can make a difference in the life of a homeless animal.
