To the Editor:

Our class went Oct. 19 to the John J. McCarthy Observatory at New Milford High School.

The Waxing Gibbous Moon had huge, dark seas and deep, bumpy, circular craters.

We saw Jupiter, the biggest gas planet in the solar system, and we could see its cloud belt.

Europa, Io, Callisto, and Ganymede are four of Jupiter's Galilean moons.

We saw all four moons.

Our class enjoyed the trip to the observatory and learned a great deal about astronomy.

We hope you go there, too.

Thank you to Mr. Cloutier, Mr. Lambert, and Mr. Robson for the extraordinary, out of this world adventure.
