To the Editor:

The New Milford Lions Club would like to thank all the visitors to the Village Fair Days for coming to our pizza booth and purchasing pizza, soda and water and this year and, for the first time coffee, doughnuts and bagels.

We had a successful weekend and we are very thankful for the support.

Your purchases help us with community projects like the two pavilions at Harrybrooke Park and donations to several local charities like the food bank.

I would like to express our sincerest thanks to Alan Popilowski and Richard Layton Fuel Company for their help with our pizza oven and for our propane hookup on the weekend of the fair.

They are a tremendous asset to our organization.

I would also like to thank Arbor Services of Connecticut for loaning us the mats we parked our pizza trailer on to protect our beautiful Green.

In addition, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors:

The Pepsi Co., Green Mountain Coffee; Canterbury School, not only for the ice given, but also for allowing us to store our dough and cheese in its walk-in cooler; LaPietra Marble and Granite, for the slab of granite it gave to make pizza on; and Sysco Food, for working closely with us on our dough, sauce, cheese and water.

Please be sure to visit us at Harrybrooke Park on Sept. 18 for our second annual fall festival. Please be sure to sign up soon for the horseshoe tournament. Space is limited.

The New Milford Lions Club prides itself in having an active interest in our community. Our club was formed on April 18, 1929 by a group of businessmen who wanted to give back to the community that made them successful.

Our club has distinguished itself as extraordinary people by donating their time to fund raisers and service projects.

For information on being a member of the largest and most effective community organization, please contact Bob Coppola at (860) 354-9954
