One of many one-room schoolhouses which served the far-flung New Milford community well into the 20th century was the Hill and Plain schoolhouse on Sullivan Road, just a short walk from the current Hill and Plain School that now serves students in grades K-3. Above, a drawing depicting the interior of the little schoolhouse graced a greeting card that was sold regionally in the middle of the 20th century. Those who would like to loan or contribute a photo from any of the Greater New Milford-area towns should bring it to Norm Cummings at the Greater New Milford Spectrum office at 45B Main St. If the photo is to be returned, please leave a phone number and mailing address.
