To the Editor:

I would like to let the voters of New Milford know about the hard work and dedication that Roger Szendy has put forth during his nine years as a town councilman.

Roger keeps an ever-vigilant eye on spending and is quick to point out fiscal waste. He believes in providing services while controlling taxes.

Roger is a lifelong supporter of New Milford schools, teachers and our sports programs.

Last year he spent much of his time working to have the state DOT improve the detour sign age used on Route 7 during flooding conditions, something most people don't know.

On Saturdays Roger can be found meeting with a neighborhood group to help them resolve a road issue or returning e-mails to residents. Roger never shrinks from giving his time to help his town and has served on the Planning Commission and is vice chair of the POCD update committee.

He brought his broad knowledge of town government to the table in crafting the new town charter while on the Charter Revision Committee, and is currently lending his experience in the construction business to the Ambulance Building Committee.

I encourage residents to cast a vote for Roger Szendy for town councilman on Nov. 3 and be assured that he will continue to work diligently for the residents of New Milford.
