In New Milford, of course.
The famous children's book character in the striped shirt and black-rimmed specs visits 25 different local businesses in downtown New Milford.
Candlewick Press, is once again teaming up with the American Booksellers Association and 250 independent bookstores all across the country, including the Bank Street Book Nook in New Milford, for some fun and to encourage residents to patronize their local businesses in July.
Waldo and his faithful dog, Woof, will be well hidden in several businesses, including Bank Street Book Nook, Bank Street Theater, Play, Daffodil 6, the Barkery Boo’tique, Swank on Bank, Natural Market Place, Paul Morton Jewelers and Reiss Learning Center on Bank Street; Action Computer Services, Monica’s Corner, All Aboard, H.H. Taylor & Son, Green Granary and the Sweet Spot on Railroad Street; The Village Center for the Arts, Tasty Waves, Nordica and the Nutmeg Olive Oil Company on Main Street; Ameico, Inc. on Church Street; Bike Express on Bridge Street, Lennie’s Flower Shop on Elm Street; Villarina Pasta Shop and Lore’s Lanes on Route 7; and The Silo-Hunt Hill Farm on Upland Road.
Residents who spot Waldo can win prizes, including buttons, coupons and more.
Those wishing to participate can pick up a "Find Waldo Local in New Milford!" passport with the names of all the participating sites, and get their passport stamped or signed for each Waldo they find.
The first 100 Waldo seekers to get their passports stamped or signed at 10 or more sites can bring their passports back to the Bank Street Book Nook to collect prizes.
Collecting store stamps or signatures at 20 or more businesses will entitle seekers to collect prizes and be entered in a grand prize drawing July 31, with the top prize being a six-volume deluxe set of Waldo books.
