The Sherman Playhouse will offer an actor training program, "Shakespeare at Sherman" for youths April 5 through May 10.

The program, open to children ages 9 to 12, will be broken into two sections.

The first session, "The Bard's Brood," will run from 4 to 5 p.m. Children will learn the physical and vocal disciplines associated with Shakespearean acting through exercises, games and improvisations.

They will be involved in age-appropriate monologue and scene work in the second section, "The Bard's Best," from 5 to

6 p.m.

Robin Frome, a playhouse board member, will instruct the class.

Registration will be closed April 1.
