The After School Arts Program in Washington, which serves northwestern Connecticut, is in the midst of a cooking program at The Silo at Hunt Hill Farm in New Milford. Nancy Stuart, Silo director of youth and family culinary programs, has been teaching young chefs how to cook using fresh and local ingredients while creating wonderful dishes to share with each other and their families. The students have been cooking up empanadas, homemade pasta with fresh tomato sauce, guacamole, friendship tea and delicious homemade cookies. Students are shown above with Stuart, back center, from left to right, in front, Jordana Ciccone, Willow Kuck, Eve McDermott and Lindsey Deldin, and in back, Sophie Tibbatts, Claire Kersten, Ona Swanson, Caitlin Murphy, Cooper Awlasewicz, Nancy Stuart and Evie Terkildsen.
