Wynne Scholarship to be awarded by Chamber

The Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce will award the $1,000 Frederick J. Wynne Scholarship to a 2011 graduating high school senior.

The scholarship is given in memory of the late Fred Wynne, a longtime Greater New Milford area businessman and Chamber official.

To be eligible, an applicant must have a parent or guardian who works for a business that is a member of the Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce, or an applicant may be employed by a business member of the Chamber. Demonstrated community service and a need for financial assistance are other requirements.

Applications are available in the guidance office of the local high schools and also at the GNMCC office at 11 Railroad Street in New Milford. Applications are due in the Chamber office by April 30 at 3 p.m.

The scholarship recipient will be determined in June and presented with the scholarship July 30 at the Village Fair Days.
