Harrybrooke Park and Harden House Museum in New Milford will present an end-of-summer screening of “The Wizard of Oz” Sept. 1 at dark, about 8 p.m.
A rain date of Sept. 8 is planned.
The event at the park off Still River Drive is co-sponsored by Bank Street Theater and The Hobby Hangout.
“We have such a great venue for this sort of event,” said Billy Buckbee, executive director.
“Since I got the news I've been singing ‘We're out of the woods, we’re out of the woods’ but we aren’t!,” he quipped.
“This event is among the trees, but no apples will be thrown. It's just a great way to say thank you for all of the support all year long,” Buckbee said.
Guests are invited to dress as their favorite “Wizard of Oz” character.
Donations are welcome but not required.
The event will be capped at 300 participants; no tickets may be purchased in advance.
