New Milford Spirit Shoppe and NeJaime's Wine and Spirits will host its semi-annual wine tasting Nov. 1 from 6 to 9 p.m.

The event, to benefit the Community Culinary School of Northwestern Connecticut, will take place at Candlewood Valley Country Club on Danbury Road (Route 7 South).

More than 100 wines, liquors and craft beers will be available to sample.

The event will also feature drawing prizes consisting of donations from local businesses; New Milford Spirit Shoppe will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to the school.

For years, John NeJaime, owner of New Milford Spirit Shoppe, has hosted this event on a semi-annual basis and has donated more than $60,000 dollars to help various organizations throughout New Milford.

"It's a great event for everyone," NeJaime said. "All the wines are chosen and targeted toward the upcoming fall and winter seasons."

"Our focus has been to show consumers great products, at terrific values that will also enhance their dining experience. We have a large number of people who attend our tastings semi-annually, because the prices and savings are better than ever, plus they're helping to raise money for a wonderful cause."

A major bottle sponsor is sought for the event to help with the buck a bottle program.

For every bottle ordered, a sponsor will donate a dollar to the culinary school.
