William F. Dunn, 84, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, formerly of Bridgewater, died April 4, 2010, at his residence. He was the husband of Mary (Kerrigan) Dunn.

Mr. Dunn was born June 2, 1925, in Stamford.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. Later, he served in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1952 during the Korean War.

After the military, Mr. Dunn taught in the ROTC program at the University of Rhode Island.

He later founded the C&D Moving and Storage Company in Brookfield.

Mr. Dunn loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed traveling, golf and reading.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Dunn is survived by a son, William Dunn, and his wife, Debra (Legassi) Dunn, of Hollis, Maine; a daughter, Patricia Johnston, and her husband, Steven, of Hollister, Calif.; a sister, Martha Keaton, of Boca Raton, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Private services will be held at a later date.

The Cote Funeral Home in Saco, Maine, is in charge of arrangements.
