Wilbur F. Webster, 97, of New Milford, died May 11. He was the husband of Mary G. Webster.

He was born March 22, 1916, to the late A. Benjamin and Wilhelmina Webster. He grew up on the family farm, Arethusa, in Litchfield.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural route carrier. He was also a valued employee of the Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford for many years.

He was a 60-year member of the Good Shepherd Lodge No. 65, a past president of the Connecticut Eye Bank, the first president of the Water Witch Hose Co. No. 2, and a member of the First Congregational Church in New Milford.

In addition to his wife of 67 years, he is survived by three sons, Robert, and his wife, Lynn, of New Milford; William, and his wife, Michele, of Prospect; and J. Chris, and his wife, Jennifer, of Scottsdale, Ariz; a brother, Arthur, of Litchfield; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Karl, of Litchfield.

The Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was at the Center Cemetery in New Milford.
