The firemen’s parade was one of the many special events held in New Milford more than 100 years ago. Shown above is the parade in the village center of New Milford, circa 1900, just pre-dating the Great Fire of 1902 that destroyed the New England House, left center, at the corner of Main and Bank streets. To the right is the United States Hotel, which was razed in 1927 on the present site of Robertson Jewelers.
