Washington voters await proposed budget
The public hearing on Washington's proposed budget for 2010-11 will be May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Bryan Memorial Town Hall.
The town meeting for the budget vote will be May 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall.
The proposed budget is set at $14,149,382, down .1 percent from the present year.
Of that figure, operating budget will be $3,998,147 and capital will be $883,500.
An additional $120,000 would be budgeted for open space, housing and legal litigation funds.
Washington's contribution to the Region 12 school district would be $9,147,735, a decrease of about $100,000 from 2009-10.
