Washington Parks & Rec notes
The following are programs offered by Washington's Parks & Recreation Department.
Programs must be pre-paid. Application forms are available outside the Parks & Recreation office during Bryan Memorial Town Hall hours. Office hours are Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A $25 sticker fee with proof of residency is still required for ramp use. Hours through Labor Day, Sept. 7 at the town boat ramp at Lake Waramaug are Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 6 a.m. to sunset and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All boats are checked for milfoil and subject to a $5 inspection fee. Parking is limited on a first-come/first served basis. Violators will be towed. The ramp will close for the season Oct. 25 at sunset. An extra fee of $75 would be charged for late removal of boats.
The summer schedule of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily is still underway through Labor Day, Sept. 7. Limited permits are available at the beach and at the Parks & Recreation office. The beach director is Jeff Cox.
Classes for juniors aged 7-12 and those older from 13 to 99 meet Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at Washington Montessori School. Cost for a 10-week session is $60 per student (and $40 per additional family member). For information, call instructors Tom and Roberta O'Neil at (203) 266-5889.
Note: Those participating in ongoing programs at the town hall should park behind the town hall.
Classes coordinated by Denise Arturi meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. and Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. upstairs in Bryan Memorial Town Hall. Experience is not necessary. Cost is $10 for drop in or $100 for 16 classes over an eight-week period. for information, call (860) 868-2880.
