Warren voters will go to the polls May 19 to decide on a $4.83 million combined school and town budget proposal for fiscal 2011-12.

That figure is up $250,000 for a 4.3 percent increase over the present year.

The town side, $1.83 million, would be a 3.4 percent increase, driven mainly by increased energy and fuel costs.

Warren's portion of the Region 6 schools budget is $2.99 million, up $135,000.

A public hearing is set for May 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Warren Town Hall on Cemetery Road.
