Warren proposes 5.8 percent increase
Warren's proposed 2010-11 budget has been set at $4,649,436, up 5.8 percent, or $250,000 over the present year.
This figure represents the first increase the town has seen in three years, First Selectman Jack Travers said.
The proposed increase was driven by the town hall now in the last stages of construction and the schools budget. The municipal side of the budget would be $1,793,057.
A public hearing on the budget is slated May 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall on Sackett Hill Road.
The town meeting to vote will be May 20 at 7:30 p.m.
