Voter registration accepted in Kent
The Kent Registrar of Voters will accept registration on Election Day, Nov. 8.
Individuals who need to register are asked to use the front entrance so as to not interfere with regular voting; except for people who are disabled who may use the rear entrance to access the elevator in the main portion of the building.
Registration will be taken at the Registrar’s office on the second floor of town hall on Kent Green.
Registration is not complete until an individual has arrived in person to the EDR location and the registrars have entered information into the Connecticut Online Voter Registration website and accepted the application.
The process must be completed by 8 p.m.
EDR registration has the same requirements as registering to vote, which are: one must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Connecticut and at least 18 years old, or will be by Election Day.
Registrants must fill out a voter registration form and present ID that shows his/her current address.
A valid Connecticut driver’s license is acceptable and meets the above criteria.
Individuals can also use the last four digits of their Social Security number, but will also need to provide proof of residence, which can be any pre-printed official document that shows name and address such as a current utility bill, bank statement, lease, government check, paycheck, tax bill or any government document, or the envelope it was mailed in.
