Vernon Wochek, 78, known as 'The GTO Man'

Vernon "Bud" Wochek, 78, of Beacon Falls, died May 15, 2010, at his home.
Mr. Wochek was born Feb. 11, 1932, in Danbury, son of the late John and Roberta (Van Scoy) Wochek.
A truck driver for many years, he had a passion for 1960s muscle cars, especially Pontiac GTOs, of which he owned several throughout the years.
He will be remembered by many as "The GTO Man."
Mr. Wochek is survived by two brothers, Warren Wochek, of Brookfield, and Jack Wochek, and his wife, Jean, of Danbury; his children, Lisa Bernard, of Cape Coral, Fla., Vicky Nelson, and her husband, David, of New Milford, Joy Wochek, of New Milford, and John Wochek, of Danbury; two grandchildren, Cassidy Bernard, and Garry Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his former wife, Susan Brutz; and a sister, Barbara Hill.
Cremation will be at the convenience of the family. Services to be announced at a later date.
