Vermilyea to visit historical society
Vermilyea will discuss and copies of his book “Hidden History of Litchfield County” at the Aspetuck Avenue museum.
Vermilyea, who teaches history at Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village and at Western Connecticut State University, is a graduate of New Milford High School and of Gettysburg College.
Th director of the student scholarship program at the Gettysburg’s Civil War Institute, he is the author or editor of four books and fifteen articles, most on Civil War history.
He received the 2015 CultureMax Award for his book, “Hidden History of Litchfield County.”
The event is free to museum members and $5 for non-members. Books will be available for purchase the day of the event.
