Zoe Vandermeer, of Gaylordsville, has been accepted to the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism Performing Artists roster.

Ms. Vandermeer is a coloratura soprano, Celtic and baroque harpist, and composer.

She has given performances at classical and early music festivals in Spain, Scotland, New York City, Indiana, Canada and California.

Her operatic roles include Queen of the Night, Lucia, and Lakme, and has performed with the Opera Company of Brooklyn, Festival Opera Walnut Creek, and opera companies in New York City.

A prize-winning graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, her orchestral works have been commissioned and premiered by the Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra and San Francisco Sinfonietta.

Her solo voice/harp album "Angel's Wine," featuring the songs of late Renaissance composer John Dowland, won second place for Best Classical Album in 2002 by JPF.

Ms. Vandermeer is the director of Vandermeer Voice and Arts, with the studio in Gaylordsville and training center in Farmington.
