The Social Work Department of New Milford Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice will offer a live video webcast on the "Ethics in End of Life Decisions" on Monday, Sept. 22, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Physicians, social workers, nurses, clinicians and anyone dealing with dying individuals and their families who are struggling with end-of-life care are invited to attend.

Jackson Rain, author of "Life After Loss: Contemporary Grief Counseling and Therapy," will discuss how to recognize the distinction between healing and cure and examine the nature of heroic treatment and futility.

He will also cover complicated ethical challenges at the end of life and techniques for communicating empathy and compassion.

Cost is $10, and 1.5 CEUs are available for an additional $9.99.

For details and to register, call the association at 68 Park Lane Road (Route 202) at 860-354-2216.
