UConn junior Mia Nahom of New Milford recently finished fourth out of 226 runners at the NCAA Northeast Regional race at the Audubon Golf Course in Buffalo, N.Y., advancing her to the NCAA Championship.

Nahom finished with a time of 19:33.7, earning All-Region honors, at the NCAA Northeast Regional race, according to www.uconnhuskies.com.

She competed in the NCAA Championship race Nov. 23 at the Lavern Gibson Course in Terre Haute, Ind.

Nahom is the first women's cross-country runner to qualify for the national championship race since UConn’s Lauren Sara in the fall of 2014.
