Two hikes will be offered June 1-2 in Kent as part of the 21st annual Connecticut Trails Day Celebration.

An Appalachian Trail hike from Bulls Bridge in South Kent to Route 341 in Kent will take place June 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The challenging 7.6-mile hike will traverse the ridge on the western side of the Housatonic River, circumnavigating the Schaghticoke Indian Reservation as it crisscrosses the Connecticut-New York border.

Hikers are asked to meet at the parking lot next to the Kent School ice hockey rink on Route 341, where they will leave shuttle cars at the trail terminus prior to carpooling to Bulls Bridge and Schaghticoke roads.

A Skiff Mountain Preserve hike will take place June 2 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The hike will debut trails and introduce Marvelwood School's avian research program.

Hikers can walk approximately two miles on footpaths and old wood roads; an opportunity to extend the hike on additional loop trails is available.

Hikers should meet leaders at the school lot behind the science center and adjacent to the athletic center on Skiff Mountain.
